Connecticut medical marijuana patients are completely exempt from the state sales tax and cannabis excise taxes that apply to adult-use recreational purchases. For West Hartford patients who manage a qualifying condition with regular cannabis use, this tax exemption represents meaningful ongoing savings. Medical patients also purchase up to 5 ounces per month from licensed dispensary facilities, with access to medical-only product formulations not always available on the adult-use market.
